この度、ご存知 “弾き語りの吟遊詩人”スーマーさんによるCD、「寒弾SONG BOOK vol.8」のジャケット原画を描かせて頂きました。

刊行から８年目を迎える月刊誌「寒弾」の為に収録された、一年分の珠玉の未発表音源12曲が、スーマーさんと素敵なミュージシャン達との共演によって、聴く人に色鮮やかな景色を見せてくれます。 

原画の製作にあたり、音源を聴いて眼前に浮かんだのは、スーマーさんの終わりのない旅路と、泣きたくなる程あたたかい太陽でした。

そして、線路を歩く姿のラフを何度か描くなかで、スーマーさんから頂いた修正は、たった１つだけでした。

「鞄はいらないと思うんだ。」

大切なことは心の中、歌の中で生き続けているから、と。これほど粋で格好いい修正依頼を、私は他に知りません。

この、優しさと出会いの宝物のようなCDが、多くの人々の心の余白に届いて、また新しい出会いが生まれていきますように。

I'm so honored to announce that I was incharge of drawing the original artwork for the CD jacket "KANBIKI SONG BOOK vol.8" by Mr. Suemarr, who is well known as the minstrel in Japan. This CD is containing 12 songs from 12 month of unreleased sound sources recorded for the monthly magazine "KANBIKI", which has been published for 8 years. The music played by SUEMARR and wonderful musicians shows us the colourful scenery.

When I listened to it for the production of the original drawing, what came to my mind first was his endless journey and the warm sunset that would make me want to cry.

And, after drawing several rough sketches of him walking on the railroad, he asked me the only one correction.

 "I don't think I need a bag."

Because the precious things keep living in his heart, in his songs, he said.  I've never heard of such a cool fix request before.

 I do hope that this CD, which is just like a treasure of kindness and encounters, will reach many people's hearts and create new encounters in this world.
