Yukina Tokumoto's drawings always tell a story.
Her unique world of colours, the dynamic movement of lines and the expression of luminosity was described as "dreamy and magical" in London. With a fountain pen, a small watercolor palette, and a sketchbook in hand, she lives like a traveler in this world, depicting the precious moments of daily life with a fresh sensibility.
This exhibition features 20 original artworks, including her new work "Luminous," as well as the digital cover of Mone Kamishiraishi's single "Natsukashii Mirai." All the works created to make someone smile is sure to gently illuminate your heart.
A week has passed since my solo exhibition, and I finally feel at home. Thank you so much for enjoying my solo exhibition "Luminous".
I’m grateful for everyone who came to see it, who couldn't come but still encouraged me a lot, and my family and friends who understand me and support me with all their might. Although it was called a solo exhibition, in reality, it could be said to be a group exhibition. The happiness, source of my paintings comes from someone's smile or encounter, so I couldn't paint alone, and I couldn't hold a solo exhibition without you.
I had put a lot of thought into preparing to create a "comfortable space where people can stay for a long time" and an "exhibition that makes people want to come back again," so when people said that to me and came again and again, I was so happy that I almost hugged them. Even without that, some people may have been surprised that I was so happy that I spoke to them at a distance that is not typical of Japanese.
Eiji Yoshikawa, who just finished writing the full-length historical novel "The Tale of the Heike" wrote in the afterword that he felt "like a first-year middle school student, with his mind expanding." That's exactly how I feel right now, my heart is filled with pictures I want to draw, art materials I want to try, books I want to read, and places I want to go, and I feel like I'm about to take off like a rocket.
I'd be happy if you would continue to watch over me kindly. Thank you very much for all your support and thoughtfulness.
June, 6th 2025. Yukina Tokumoto

I was so happy to see you all!
