“Sweet Sorrow”

2024年3月、ギタリスト/ウクレレ奏者の本間尚樹さんが製作されたCDアルバム「Sweet Sorrow」の原画とデザインを担当致しました。

ご自身の演奏活動はもちろん、映画やCMといった映像作品への楽曲提供など、幅広い活動をされている本間さん。その手から生み出される音楽は、心地よい闇のなかに静かに潜っていくような、ぽっと灯る小さな光をこの手に抱くような、そんな優しさに溢れています。

冷たいけれど、あたたかい。

寂しいけれど、幸せ。

甘く切なく優しい哀しみの音を聴きながら、浮かんだ情景をパステルで大切に描きあげました。

この音楽が、誰かの闇のなかの小さな光と共鳴して、物語が続いていくことを、絵を描く者として見届けられて良かったです。

I'm happy to announce that I was in charge of the original drawings and whole design for the CD album "Sweet Sorrow" produced by guitarist/ukulele player Naoki Homma.

Mr. Homma is involved in a wide range of activities, including his own performances as well as providing music for movies, commercials, and other video works. His music is filled with kindness, as if you are quietly diving into comfortable darkness, or holding a small light in your hands.

Cold but warm.

Lonely but happy.

Listening to the gentle sound of sweet sorrow, I carefully painted the scenes that came to my mind with soft pastels.

As an artist, I am glad to have been able to see that this music resonate with a small light in someone's darkness and continue the story of the music.
